Margaret R. Miller – Virginia Beach
Margaret Rheuana Becker Lucas Miller died February 6, 2011 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was a resident of Atlantic Shores. She was the daughter of Ruth Johnston and Frank L. Becker. She was born July 28, 1918 in Pontiac, Michigan. She attended public schools in Pontiac, then went to college at Eastern Michigan University and in 1938 transferred to Michigan State University where she graduated in 1940. She completed her dietetic internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Following her internship, she returned to Michigan and worked in Lansing and Pontiac hospitals before entering the Navy in 1943 as LTJG in the Supply Corps. Upon her discharge, she worked for various businesses and worked for the National Dairy Council. She went to Europe and joined her brother in starting a business representing American companies with the Armed Services all over the world. She returned to the United States and in 1960 was married to Norman E. Lucas who died in 1976. In 1985 she married John Miller. Mr. Miller died in 2004 at Atlantic Shores.
A sister, Virginia, and a brother, John, preceded her in death. She is survived by her two stepsons, Norman E. Lucas, Jr. of Palm Gardens, Florida, and Randall Lucas and his wife Mary of Virginia Beach, Virginia, one grandson Devin R. Lucas, four nieces and one nephew and a host of friends all over the world. The family wishes to thank her caretaker Norma Price for her amazing love and support.
