Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, December 27, 1941 to Fernando Baragaño and Elsie Gonzalez. An avid student with a zest for life, Maria spent her formative years in New York and Puerto Rico. Making use of her multi-cultural background she entered government service with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Justice Department in multiple posts, including service in Ecuador, The Dominican Republic, and Argentina.
Maria was an avid traveler who treasured all the rich experiences her time living and working overseas offered her. She was a caring and nurturing person with a profoundly warm personality that touched all who knew her.
Preceded by sons Pablo and Ricardo, she is survived by her husband, Richard, her daughter Diana Taylor, her brother Fernando Baragaño and her step-children, Eric Howard, Richard Howard, and Denise Howard Stolle.
