Marie K. Palmer, 81, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on September 27, 2022.  She was born in High Point, NC and moved to Virginia after her marriage to George S. Palmer, Jr. (deceased).  She was the daughter of the late Frances Hewitt and granddaughter of Howard and Beatrice Kennedy of High Point.  Marie was a member of Parkview Baptist church for 52 years.  She retired from Wells Fargo after 32 years of service as a banker.  She was also President of the Virginia Head Injury Foundation for several years serving to expand the awareness and needs of individuals with head injuries like those of her son, Gary Allen Palmer, also deceased.  She was an active member of the YMCA for more than 30 years enjoying water aerobics, as well as the host of friends she made throughout the years.  Marie loved to travel, enjoyed cruises and especially trips to the beach.

Marie is survived by her children, Donna Hull (Allan), Steve Palmer (Trish) and Karen Stowe (Tray) as well as 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of her life will be held on October 15, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in the Chapel, 604 Hilton Boulevard, Newport News, VA.  The visitation will be prior to the service starting at 1:15 p.m.   Memorial contributions can be made to Parkview Baptist church in her honor.

Cremation Society of Virginia- Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
