Marjorie Crowley Edwards, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA to Charles and Kathryn Crowley, she grew up in Philadelphia and nearby Hatboro. She graduated from Dickinson in 1960, married an Army officer, and enjoyed the adventures that Army life provided, including traveling in Europe. A lifelong learner, she earned her pilot’s license before age 30 and a master’s degree in botany while raising three children. Her interesting career included jobs at Langley Federal Credit Union and working for the Department of Defense as a computer specialist. Marjorie enjoyed making beautiful cakes for celebrations with family and friends, sewing, photography, and attending quilt shows with her daughters. She was especially passionate about music and was a member of Sweet Adelines for over 36 years, making memories and cherished friendships. In retirement, she continued to travel including to many national parks with her daughters, bike trips in Europe, kayaking in Quebec, sailing in the Northwest, Paris with her sister, and service trips to Russia and Macedonia. At home, she enjoyed raising monarch butterflies and watching bluebirds nest in her backyard. Above all, Marjorie loved the time she spent with her three daughters and five grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Susan Ramsey; three daughters, Deborah Edwards, Karin Richardson, and Audrey Rhoad; and grandchildren Ethan Rhoad, Jamie Munsey, Sarah Rhoad, Alek Rhoad, and Theo Richardson.
She made us all feel loved and special and we will miss her dearly.
