Marjorie Lynch King, 78, formerly of Brunswick County, VA, died peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on June 30, 2017, at Sentara’s Hospice House in Virginia Beach. Born June 25, 1939 in Halifax County, NC, she is predeceased by her parents, James Henry and Mamie Lee (Williams) Lynch of Brunswick County, and her son Harvey Smith Vaughan, Jr.
Marjorie was a 1957 graduate of Brunswick High School and went on to attend Smithdale Massey Business School. She lived out her life with a successful 50 year career in real estate, last having her license with Atkinson Realty as an Associate Broker. She was a devout member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, loved the beach, playing golf, duplicate bridge and Shag Dancing. She was a fiercely devoted family member and steadfast friend to countless others whose lives she touched through the years. Her love, passion and magnetic energy lives on through the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Larry) Black of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughters, Stephanie (Scott) Robbins of Virginia Beach, VA and Ashley (Matt) Ohlschlager of Quinton, VA; grandson Brennar Goree of Valdosta, GA; and four great granddaughters, Whitney and Avery Robbins and Lily and Emma Ohlschlager; her sister Barbara (Jim) Bernard and nephew Chris (Missy) Bernard; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Celebration of Life services will be held Sunday, July 2nd at First Baptist of Norfolk at 4 pm and Sunday, July 16th at Rock United Methodist Church in Brunswick County at 2 pm. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, VA 23502; Rock United Methodist Church, 75 Rock Church Road, Lawrenceville, VA 23868; or Dream Catchers, P O Box 1261, Williamsburg, VA.
