Marlene P. Custis was born September 11, 1947 and departed this life on March 8, 2020. She was a devout servant of Jehovah and took much pleasure in performing her field service and ministry. Marlene also known as Marty to her family and friends was born and raised in Salisbury, MD where she attended school and excelled to academic excellence. She received her Bachelors’ Degree in Art Education from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore graduating Suma Cum Laude and valedictorian of her class. Upon completion of her education she taught Junior High School Art Classes before changing careers and entering the Health Care field where she remained until she retired. Although she changed career paths her love of art was always present as she continued to create many pieces of beautiful art. Marlene moved to Virginia in 1995 where she continued her career in health care serving Jehovah.
Marlene is survived by two sisters Patricia Wright (James) of Newport News, and Doretha Vassor (Carl), of Baltimore, MD one brother, Lake Fletcher (Sabrina) of Salisbury, MD and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Custis Fletcher, two brothers, Eric Fletcher and Larry Fletcher and a nephew Freddie Hutley.
