Martha Barnett, 85, passed away on January 15th, 2023. Martha was born in Giles County where she lived until marrying her beloved husband Donald Barnett and moved to Hampton. Martha was retired from Hampton City Schools where she enjoyed her days at Kraft Elementary serving as a cafeteria worker. Martha enjoyed being outdoors in her yard as long as it wasn’t too cold. At 85 years old she could still be found outside mowing her lawn even if it took her longer than it used it. She spent her free time being an active grandmother as her grandchildren were growing up. Wherever they went she did too.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Estil and Lou Snider; her husband, Donald Barnett; and her brothers and sister. Left to cherish her memory her daughter, Diane Barnett-Wilson; grandson, James Donald Wilson III (Donnie) and his wife, Katie; granddaughter, Alisha Wilson and fiancé, Sean; and her two great grandchildren, Addison and Maverick.
