The Lord called Martha home on December 8, 2023. She lived a long, happy and active life. She dedicated herself to the nursing profession for her career. Martha was married to Robert H. Thompson and they shared 59 loving years together before his passing. They raised two children Michael Thompson (Melissa) and Marsha Moriarty (Jack). She devoted her retirement to her grandchildren Nicholas Thompson and Riley Thompson who were the absolute joys of her life.
Martha enjoyed birdwatching, hiking, cross-stitching and reading. She was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. The family requests that people make donations in support of Meals on Wheels Virginia Beach in lieu of sending flowers.
