Martin Edward Klein, beloved husband, loving father and grandfather, passed away at Sentara Hospice House on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the age of 67.
Martin is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Lorraine Klein, his son, Joseph Swan, his daughter, Pattie Merhej, his son-in-law, John Merhej, and his grandchildren, Michael and Robert Merhej.
Cremation will take place in Virginia Beach and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Brooklyn, NY.
Martin was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 8, 1947, He graduated from Brooklyn College with a BS in systems analysis and from Polytechnic Institute with an MS in transportation planning and engineering, He later received his MBA from Troy University.
Martin was a veteran of the Navy during the Vietnam War, first as an ammo ship specialist and later as a submariner on the USS George Washington Carver.
Martin later worked in insurance sales and retired from Geico in May, 2013.
