From her grandfather's confectionary on Bank St, to Maury High School, to Bausch and Lomb, to Capitol Airlines, to her family, to the Hellenic Women's Club, to the DePaul Hospital Women's Auxiliary, to the Virginia Opera Association, to the Norfolk Jail Literacy Program, to the Annunciation Cathedral Golden Years Club, to Suburban Park Civic League, and to countless acts of vigilante social work, Mary brought her inimitable charm and style. Truly, she was the proverbial one in a million.

Mary was a stalwart of our neighborhood and the Suburban Acres Civic League, serving for many years as the league's newsletter distributor. Her strong but quiet demeanor and beautiful smile leave a lasting memory for her neighbors to remember her by.

Dear sweet Mary was a special friend and civic league loyalist and helper who was devoted to making Wards Corner a great place to congregate and we shop. So sad to learn of her death. She has a special place in heaven
