Mary Adeline Crowe, lovingly known as “Mimi,” passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 88. Born on July 23, 1937, in West Lynn, MA, Mimi lived a life full of adventure, creativity, and love.
A proud graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1955, Mimi embarked on a journey that would see her become a devoted homemaker and an inspirational Navy wife. Together with her beloved husband, Arthur Crowe, whom she married in Boston, MA, she raised her family along the East Coast, as well as in faraway lands like Italy and Taiwan, nurturing and instilling a sense of wonder and exploration in her children.
Mimi’s home was a canvas of warmth and creativity, where she masterfully blended her passions for travel, mystery novels, music, and art. A talented sketch artist, she captured the beauty of the world around her. Her voice, a joyful melody, could often be heard singing the songs she cherished. Always ready for a friendly challenge, she loved playing card games with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her baking skills were renowned among family and friends, with her kitchen often filled with the comforting scents of her delicious creations. Mimi had an innate talent for home decorating, turning every house into a welcoming haven.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Nuttall; her dear husband, Arthur Crowe; her brothers, Lawrence and John; as well as her mother and father-in-law, Mimi now watches over her surviving family from above. She leaves behind her devoted children, Tom, Keith, and Jim, two beloved granddaughters, Katie and Christi, and four cherished great-grandchildren, Reilly, Kinsley, Charlie, and Lily, who will carry forward her legacy of love and joy.
Mimi’s life was a testament to the power of family bonds, creativity, and the courage to explore the world. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Services in celebration of Mimi’s remarkable life will be held at a later date. Please offer your fondest condolences to the family at the Cremation Society of Virginia website.
