Mary Ellen Berry Zehr, 53 was called home by our Lord on Thursday the 20th of Jan, 2011. Mary was born Sept. 11, 1957 in Camp LeJune, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Grover E. Berry. She is survived by her husband Bob, two sons Jason Allen Zehr and Jeremy Edwin Zehr, daughter-in-law Brandy Lowe Zehr, special daughter Heather Marie Winn, granddaughter Hailey Anne Nicholas, two brothers William Berry and wife Ammie, Joseph Berry and wife Connie, mother and father-in-law Dale and Kathy Zehr, sister-in-law Shawn Takikawa and brother-in-law Pat Zehr. She also leaves many, cousins, nephews, nieces and many many “adapted adopted” sons, daughters and grand babies.
Mary was a member of Wesley Memorial UMC for close to 50 years, she was a member of the Daniel Moore Sunday school class, Wesley Memorial Characters and Wesley Bowling League. And until a bout with Fibromuscular Dysplasia left her disabled, a member of the Wesley choir for many years and a member of the New Horizon Gospel Singers.
A memorial service will be held for Mary at Wesley Memorial UMC on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity. Cremation Society of VA is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cremate.org.
