Virginia Beach ~ Mary J Rash, 75, passed away peacefully to join her husband at Jesus side, on Sunday May 30th, 2021 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Born in Washington D.C. to Arthur and Helena Halfpap Sr. Mary grew up primarily in the Maryland area. Her one and only job was at Briggs Ice Cream. Shortly after her marriage to Roy E Rash she left employment and never looked back. Her husband sang in a southern gospel quartet traveling to various churches spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Mary would travel along, running the sound and assisting with record sales. Her hobies included almost any type of handcraft but her favorite was crochet. She loved Christmas and decorated the whole house for the season. In her later years she traveled with her husband visiting various family members and taking int the sites at Gatlingburg TN and Branson MO.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, her sister Nancy Carroll, her husband Roy and her little fur baby Gidget. She is survived by her siblings, Carol Chenault and Art Halfpap Jr. as well as her daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Jerry Wright, her grandson Christopher Rash and honorary daughter Ronda Dinger.
At her request there will be no public viewing or memorial service. Instead there will be a private family dinner held in her honor. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Samaritan’s Purse or ASPCA.
