Mary Katherine Jordan, 73, of Yorktown, VA, passed away on March 17, 2025. Born on February 18, 1952, in Richmond, VA, Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her vibrant spirit and deep love for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Mary was a proud graduate of George Wythe High School in Richmond, VA, Class of 1970. She went on to become a successful business owner and touched many lives through her work and dedication. Her independent nature, loyalty, and caring heart made her a cherished friend and an admired figure in her community.
Above all, Mary’s family meant the world to her and she was like a lioness when it came to her children. She is survived by her beloved children, Dawn Bush Crouch (Terry) of Paris, KY, and Mitch Bush (Naomi Richards) of Newport News, VA. Her love extended to her grandchildren, John Crouch (Stephanie) of Carlisle, KY, and Olivia Angus of Grandy, NC, as well as her great-grandchildren, Myles Angus and Josie Crouch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Lee Spiers and George Rufus Spiers. She is survived by her siblings: Barbara Varro, Dennis Biggs, Donna Biggs, Cecelia Pilley, Leslie Raiford, and Susan Mason. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends who she considered family, as well as many special kitties, particularly her cherished Vincent.
Mary had a passion for travel, and her adventurous spirit took her to Europe, Las Vegas, and on cruises to many exciting destinations with friends and family. Her infectious laughter, love for life, and ability to make everyone feel special left an indelible mark on those who knew her. She was the life of any party and will always be remembered for the joy and warmth she brought to every room she entered.
A party to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on April 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Riverwalk Restaurant, 323 Water St., Yorktown, VA 23690. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters or local animal rescues, two causes that were close to her heart.
Mary’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed.
