Mary Lorden Tuel, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 22, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born in Alliance, Ohio, she spent her life as a beacon of strength and love for her family.

A tenacious and dedicated matriarch, Mary single-handedly raised her two sons with pride and perseverance, instilling in them the values she held dear. Her unwavering commitment to her family was evident in every endeavor she undertook, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for those she loved.

Mary’s legacy lives on through her surviving family, including her beloved sons, Todd Kelly Tuel (Melaine Tuel) and Ryan Thomas Tuel (Jennifer Tuel). She was a cherished grandmother to Jacob Brian-Kelly Tuel, Shaelyn McKenzie Tuel, and Ryan Thomas Tuel II, and a proud great-grandmother to Maisie Bee Tuel, Sunnie May Tuel, and Charlotte Grace Matthews. She is also survived by her five siblings, Thomas Lorden, James Lorden, Patrick Lorden, Bonnie Barns, and Elaine Lorden,  who will all remember her fondly. Her beloved cat, Rudy, will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, continuing Mary’s tradition of compassion and support for those in need. Mary Lorden Tuel will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a date and time to be determined.
