Maureen (Mo) Kissinger died suddenly of complications from an illness at 40 years old on September 20, 2023. Maureen was born on March 28, 1983. She grew up with her parents, Terry and Mary Jo Bolger, and her younger siblings, Joseph and Sharon. They lived in the close-knit neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, later moving to Hanover, Pennsylvania. In school, Maureen shone in sports, fine arts clubs, and choirs.
Maureen moved to Newport News, Virginia in her twenties, and met Mark. It was clear to everyone that they were soulmates. They celebrated their marriage in 2012, and over the years, welcomed four children.
She reached the rank of general manager at Wawa, earning multiple awards for her work. After many years of service, Maureen eagerly transitioned to be a full-time homemaker and homeschool educator. She immersed herself in books, art, crafts, and activities. She had great attention to detail in everything that she pursued; directing the education of her family was no exception. To teach and discover with her children brought her so much joy.
Maureen has been an example to many of us, with her passion for finding good books, good art, and fun games – ideally on sale. She loved what was beautiful and true, and she brought light to many peoples’ lives. She could put anyone at ease, with a crossword puzzle in hand or a Jane Austen quote.
She is survived by her beloved husband Mark, and her children Isabelle (Izzy), Aurelia (Aurie), Verona (Oona), and Leonidas (Leo); her parents, Terry and Mary Jo Bolger; her brother, Joe Bolger; her sister, Sharon (Bolger) and William Kabel; her in-laws, Danny Kissinger, Patricia Kissinger, and Tara (Kissinger) Mathis.
