Maxine J. Gilpin, born on August 13, 1941, in Colinga, California, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 84.

Maxine was a devoted mother and friend. She graduated from high school in 1959 and went on to become the proud owner of a beloved collectibles store, where she shared her passion and expertise with many in her community.

She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Brendan Poynter, and her loving parents, Lester and Myrtle Viola Gilpin. Her memory will be forever treasured by her surviving son, Brett Poynter.

Maxine had a deep love for her cats and found great joy in spending time with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Services to honor Maxine’s life will be planned at a later date. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
