Carol Collier Sparrow passed away on December 2, 2022. She was born on January 21, 1945 to parents, Richard W. Collier and Marjorie Lee Bray Collier. She was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia and was a 1963 graduate of Newport News High School. She retired in 2001 from Verizon Communications after thirty-two years. After retirement, Carol worked several days a week, for many years, at Bed, Bath and Beyond. She enjoyed cooking and watching most any kind of sport and she loved being with her family and friends, especially her four-legged ones.

Carol is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Suzanne Rene Collier McKown and two grandchildren, Eddie Fisher, Jr. and Julia S. Kubitz. She is survived by her husband, Lawson Sparrow, Jr., her daughters; Cara Fitzgerald (Phil) and Michele Parsons, her sister, Jeannie Fitzgerald, her grandchildren; Joseph Kubitz III, Amanda Parsons, and Elizabeth Parsons and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
