Nancy C. Foster, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 87. Born on December 15, 1937, in Covington, Virginia, she lived a life marked by dedication to her family and community.
Nancy devoted many years of her career to serving others through her work in food service for Virginia Beach Public Schools and Thalia Lynn Baptist Church’s daycare school. Her commitment to nurturing young minds and providing care was evident in her professional endeavors.
A long-standing member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, Nancy found solace and community within its walls, where she worshipped and participated in church activities for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Foster, with whom she shared a loving partnership. Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family: her daughters, Deboraha Jarman and her husband, Bobby, and Donna Foster and her husband, Rick Tinsley. She was a proud grandmother to Patrick McAndrews Jr. and his wife, Hylin, along with their daughter, Rowen; Ashley Walker and her husband, Zachary, and their children, Elena and Odin; and Thomas Jarman and his wife, Jordan, and their son, Jayce.
Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
