Nancy Lou (Cornish) Vanderpool passed away on March 4, 2021. She was 88 years old. Nancy was born in Owego, NY in 1932, and attended Owego Free Academy. She was a beautiful, gentle, compassionate, and sweet woman. She was an avid reader, puzzle enthusiast, music lover, philanthropist, and storyteller. Most of all, she LOVED her family and being called “GiGi”. She shared many memories of her childhood and life that we cherish. The family is grateful for the loving care she received from Riverside Hospice of Newport News, VA.
Nancy is predeceased by her parents, John F. and Margaret Cornish, and three brothers, Jack, Bob, and Louie. She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Peggy) Wyman of El Cajon CA; by three daughters – Margaret Alice and husband, Howard “Skip” Blair of Hampton VA, Debra Gene Creedon of Syracuse NY, and Sandra Elaine Faulkner of Chester, VA; by one son – John Eugene and life partner, Susan Hunt of Hampton, VA; by 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and by nephews and nieces.
There will be a private celebration of life service for family in June, her birthday month.
