Olga “OC” Brite of Hampton passed away after a brief illness on October 1, 2023.
She was a kind and compassionate woman who dedicated her time to helping others. OC had a vibrant personality and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was active, energetic, always on the go. She also had a deep love for animals.
OC graduated Summa cum Laude from Christopher Newport University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. She was an office manager at Howard Gould and Associates and later worked as an office manager for the Hampton General District Court until her retirement.
She was a member of Langley Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church Fox Hill. Her faith was an important aspect of her life.
She loved bike riding, reading, spending time with friends, and loved finding deals at yard sales. She was also a committed runner for many years, competing in hundreds of marathons, including the Boston Marathon at age 43.
OC is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Coombs; her son, Michael Couture; her brother, Karl Thompsen; 2 grandsons; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. OC was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Brite.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fox Hill on Thursday, October 5 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to remember OC and honor her memory.
OC will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion and dedication to others. May she rest in peace.
