Pam Pawley Grane, 55, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family April 10, 2022, Palm Sunday. Pam is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, Steve and their sons Steven and Bryce; her mother, Beverly Pawley, 92; siblings Mike, Mark and her sister Karen with whom she had a very special connection. Pam also loved and is survived by four nieces, two nephews, two grandnieces’ and one grandnephew as well as very special relationships with her unofficial adopted son Rob, her beloved cat Tobey, many relatives in Delaware and too many friends to mention.
Pam is predeceased by her adoring father the late Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Sigmund B. Pawley.
Pam was an athlete at First Colonial High School while growing up in Kings Grant, a neighborhood known as the “Grunt” to Virginia Beach locals. A devoted wife, daughter and mother Pam coached not only her children’s teams; but other teams without coaches so that every child had a chance to play, learn and compete. Willing to take anyone in need under her wing; a trait she inherited from her mom, Pam went out of her way to help and guide so many who needed her.
Giving her time to others was Pam’s gift and she gave it freely. Not only to those she knew but those she did not as well. The list of friends and the furry and feathered creatures that Pam has mentored, nourished and saved is profound. Her great joy however was saving, feeding and releasing thousands of swallowtail and monarch butterflies.
Pam is remembered for many things especially the smile she wore everywhere no matter what. Pam and that smile is so dearly missed. Those who walk into heaven wanting to always be remembered stroll through the pearly gates on a holiday. Happy Palm Sunday Pam. The day is yours forever.
Friends will gather on Saturday April 16, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Old Beach Tavern. 3020 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach 23452
