Patricia Anne Darden passed away on November 18, 2024 in the loving care of her sister Kathleen. She was 59 years old.

Patricia was born on November 3, 1965 to David and Catherine Barr in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1983 and earned her Associate’s Degree from Bauder College. During her senior year of high school, she studied abroad in Bolivia, learning to speak fluent Spanish. She carried this love of travel and other cultures throughout her life, inspiring later trips with her family to Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Belize.

On June 29, 1991, Patricia married David Zobel at Eastern Shore Chapel in Virginia Beach. Together they had two children, Marshall and Colton. On June 22, 2002, Patricia married Trent Darden and celebrated the addition of three more children to her family, Alex, Bailey and Cari. She was a dedicated mother, devoting her time to innumerable field trips, games, practices, rehearsals, and team dinners. She also loved animals like family, particularly dogs and horses, and she was an avid fan of only one sporting event: the Triple Crown horse races.

During her lifetime, Patricia owned and operated a bridal boutique in Virginia Beach, served as a special education assistant teacher for Virginia Beach Public Schools, and helped organize the annual Christmas show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

Patricia is survived by her children, Marshall, Colton, Alex, Bailey, and Cari; her grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, Rayn, and Quinnley; and her siblings, David, Michael, Kathleen, and Beth.

Details regarding a celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s name to the Chesapeake Humane Society, Equi-Kids, Bay Beagle Rescue, or the Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads.
