Our beloved sister Patty Anne Phillips born December 25, 1962 to Elizabeth Grace and Harry Woodfin Phillips crossed over on August 4, 2020 to once again be with her loving parents. There isn’t enough room on a page to describe all of Patty’s attributes, but if she were the one writing this, this is what she would say….I passed in the comfort and care of my sister’s home. Despite being born with Down Syndrome and Mental Retardation I lead a very full and happy life. I was involved with Special Olympics, went to Camp Civitan in my younger years and attended Camp Rainbow every summer. I danced with many boys at Bow Creek Rec Center, took cooking classes and pottery classes. I loved to sing and dance so I played different roles in different musicals through the Very Special Arts. I loved going out to dinner with family and friends while thoroughly enjoying The Sandler Center and Chrysler Hall to see classics I grew up on. I loved all of the parties at my sister’s house and of course Christmas because it was also my birthday. I know I am leaving behind people that love and will greatly miss me, mainly my sister Susan, brother-in-law Brew, my sister Lisa, my half-sister Nancy, nieces Amanda and Jacqueline and my nephew Allen. I won’t forget the love and support from all who passed through my life and I love and thank you all. In closing I would like to share some of the things that made my life so content….I never judged people by the color of their skin, I loved everyone for who they were, stress less, I was grateful for everyday and most of all I loved to smile and be happy. I passed at the age of 57 with a full head of brown hair with very little gray. Please be kind to yourself and others because what you leave behind is a blueprint for the next generation. On to the next adventure!!!
