Patricia J. Serra, 79, passed on Saturday, 29th November at Virginia Beach General surrounded by her family, including one of her younger sisters, her husband and their two children. Born in spring of 1945 at Brooklyn General, NY to Harry and Nancy Johnston. She was a graduate of Bradford Central, Seton Hill, and received her professional degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
She had spent the day before visiting with her favorite debater, her loving husband, looking out at the nip of blue sky from her large-windowed room. The night before she passed, her eldest daughter sat vigil and reported she tightly hugged a plush toy terrier that reminded her of her favorite snuggler and couch companion from home, her dog Andy.
Pat, or Mrs. Pat, as many called her, spent as much time as she possibly could outdoors in sun, rain and even snow. Her art installation wall at home is full of portraits and art of family, dogs and horses from her past.
Pat’s parents predeceased her. Left cherishing her memory are her inconsolable husband, daughters, sisters and extended family.
