She was predeceased in death by her parents, the late George T. Ribik and M. Rita Ribik of McKeesport Pa and her Godmother, Mary Lou Hartnett.
Mrs. Smith was a loving wife, sister and aunt who lived for her family. She was a graduate of Villanova University with a B.S. in Nursing. She was a Retired Registered Nurse with Sentara Home Healthcare and a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church were she was a Eucharistic Minister and participated in various groups within the church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Rayford Smith, sisters Marie Kennedy Donald of Greatfalls, VA, Adele Kootz Mark of Marriottsville, MD, Christine Ribik of Northern VA, sisters-in law Joanne Savage of Norfolk, Anita Smith & Kathy Smith, her brother-in-law, Glenn Smith Gloria all of Virginia Beach, nieces Dr. Stephanie Kennedy, PhD of Raleigh, NC, Kristen Kennedy of Roseville, CA, Ann-Marie Savage Russell of Norfolk, two nephews Thomas and Daniel Kootz of Marriottsville, MD along with other dear family members, friends, and neighbors.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church located at 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach with Father Mario Fulgenzi O.S.B. officiating on Friday September 20, 2013. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday September 19, 2013 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel located at 5792 Greenwich Road in Virginia Beach
