Peggy H. Mozingo, 77, of the 700 block of Gainsborough Court died on May 30, 2023, in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Annie L. Hoggard. She was the sister of the late Carl E. Hoggard and James T. Hoggard, both of Portsmouth, Virginia.
Peggy was a past member of the Chesapeake Senior Citizens club named “The Niners”. Before the Covid pandemic, she enjoyed playing bingo at McDonalds and Hardees with her friends. Peggy also enjoyed going to Busch Gardens when the temperature was hotter than the Suns’ surface…lol (admiring the Clydesdale horses was her favorite part of the day). As a professional wrestling fan, her Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights were filled with body slams and men in wrestling attire, she was also a connoisseur of delicious food…. especially BBQ.
Ms. Mozingo is survived by her daughter, Meredith A. Mozingo, of Chesapeake, Virginia; sister-in-laws, Lydie Hoggard and Barbara Hoggard, both of Portsmouth, Virginia; her aunts, Jane Chamblee and Doris Chamblee, both of Ahoskie, North Carolina in addition to numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews along with friends who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on September 9, 2023, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the South Norfolk Chesapeake Community Center located at 1217 Godwin Avenue, Chesapeake Virginia 23324.
