Peggy Weaver Rhodes

WINDSOR – Peggy Weaver Rhodes, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday June 20, 2013. She was born in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Joseph Donald Sr. and Cora Weaver. She is preceded by her brothers and sisters: JD Weaver, Jr., Sylvia Holland, Doris Ange, William Weaver, Thomas Weaver, Jerry Weaver, and Joyce Weaver.
Peggy devoted her life to her family and was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Marvin Rhodes; sisters, Patsy Copeland and Cheryl Taylor; sister-in-law, Gladys “Dump” Weaver; children, Tony Rhodes and wife Cathy, Joanne Davis and husband Robert, David Rhodes, Joyce Shumate and husband Charles, Tammie Matthews and husband Steve; grandchildren, Cathleen, Amy, Diana, Jonathan, Kristin, Sherri, Kimberly, Jennifer, Chrystal, Heather, Daniel; great-grandchildren: Adrian, Anthony, Joey, Bradley, Riley, Connor, Maggie, Zoey, River, Jude, Rory.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Colosse Baptist Church, 6361 Rhodes Dr., Windsor, Va. with a reception following at the church.
In leiu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Colosse Baptist Church in her honor.
There will be a private burial at a later date. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements.
