Petra Budde was born in Hermannstadt, Romania on June 29, 1973. She awoke in the Lord’s arms on April 14th, 2026.

Both of her children, Annmarie Budde and Joseph Budde, were born in Germany. Then the United States Navy took the Budde family to the United States. She raised her children in Maryland before she embarked on an adventure of the beach life to Virginia Beach starting in 2022.

Whether Germany, Maryland, or Virginia Beach, Petra prioritized family, Church and Community.

“This is the Day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24.

To know Petra is to know that she started each morning with contagious joy that brought everyone together and when doubt would creep in, she would say “God’s got this.” It might be easier to say what Petra was not, but we will attempt what Petra was: a plant lover, youth event coordinator, women’s ministry participant, homegrown food cook, crafter, loving mother, loving church family member, stubborn German/Roma, “thingy” thing namer, and a friend that immediately became family.
