Philip Cromartie
Virginia Beach – Philip ‘Phil’ Cromartie, 75, passed away on August 1, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Phil was born on December 18, 1941 in Livingston, New Jersey; his parents were Patricia Laird Cromartie and George Graham Cromartie, Jr.
Phil retired after 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy as a Chief O S. He also retired from Unysis and EL Hamm. Phil was Past Master of VA Beach Lodge 274 A.F. & A.M., a member of Khedive Shrine, Past President of VA Beach Shrine Club, Past Captain of the Motor Corps, member of Teocalli #117, Chesapeake Shrine Club and an active Swashbuckler. Phil loved to cook, ride his motorcycle and have a good time.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Marilyn, sons, Philip Jr. and Christopher, 2 grandchildren, sister Patricia Cromartie, brother, Bob Cromartie (Betty) and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Khedive Transportation Fund or the Shiners’ Hospital in care of: Khedive Shrine Center 645 Woodlake Drive Chesapeake, Virginia 23320.
A Celebration of Life will be held @ 3pm, Sunday, August 27th at the Lady Shrine Building 641 Woodlake Drive Chesapeake, Virginia 23220.
