Rebecca Todd Howard of Virginia Beach died suddenly and painlessly on June 4, 2024 from a brain hemorrhage surrounded by love ones. She was born in Sanford, North Carolina on August 29, 1945. She was a graduate of Oscar Smith High School and Old Domination University.
Rebecca was predeceased by her parents, Reverend Aubrey Clayton Todd and Dorothy Agnes (Grigsby)Todd, and a son Derek Howard. Surviving family members include husband, Raymond Bossola, son Britt Howard (Kirstin), stepsons, Chris Bossola (Allison), Tracy Bossola (Crystal), Andrew Bossola (Dallas), Brother Oliver Todd (Linda). Also surviving are her grandchildren Taylor, Tyler, Alyssa, Ashland, Elijah, Sam, Olivia, Faith, Kiran, Zoey, Cedar and great grandson Brodie.
Rebecca cherished raising her sons and creating a kind loving home for their family. She was the ultimate Wrestling Mom as the boys progressed in their sport. As an ESL teacher, she was not just an educator but a caring person her foreign students could come to for advice to navigate this new country. She continued long after retirement communicating with many of them via emails and letters. Retirement for her, when not spoiling her husband, was oftentimes having her hands in the dirt to nurture her plants and shrubs. She always called her home on Lake Smith her “little piece of heaven”. Her kind heart and loving spirit will be dearly missed by friends and family.
A celebration of life is planned for family and close friends on Sunday July 28, 2024 at the family’s beach house in Virginia Beach.
