On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, the loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. Reginald was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Eliane Reed; 3 brothers: Larry Battes, Wayne Lipscomb, and Leroy Thomas William Lipscomb; 2 sisters; Sandra Reed and Stephanie Lewis; one great-grandson, Elijah Williams.
Reginald Edward Reed Sr. was born October 28,1951, to the late Elizabeth Eliane Reed of Lake Wales, Florida. He worked at Smith Brothers Funeral Home in Hampton Virginia, before going to work at Casey Chevrolet sometime in the 70s where he built a great relationship with Art Casey and his family, and it continued to this day. Reginald was a die hard Washington (Redskins) Commander’s fan. He enjoyed going on rides, to the thrift store, to the auctions, and watching any Steven Seagal movies. During his free time, he loves spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Reginald Reed is survived by his wife, Donna Reed; his 5 daughters, Angela Johnson (Bruce), Tonya Belvin (Adam Cooper), Nakisha Belvin, Linda Jodeh (Talal), Regina Reed and his 2 sons, Reginald Reed, and Anthony Reed (Adolanie). 2 Sisters, Jacqueline Lipscomb Hughes (Gerald) and Linda Lipscomb; 1 brother, William Thomas Leroy Lipscomb III; 21 grandchildren (Angela) – Faneshia, Kiara, Nicole, Jada, Quinton, (Reginald) – Laura, (Tonya) – Qwatisha, Johnny, William, Tonisha, (Nakisha) – David, Mahangy, Antonio, Raheem; (Linda) – Jad, Mu`Tazz, Susan, (Regina) – Nicole, Stanley, Cataleya; (Anthony) – AJ and 18 great-grandchildren, plus a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23608.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News is assisting the family with arrangements.
