Richard A. McGuffin
Norfolk- Richard Allen McGuffin, 61, passed away on August 9th, 2017. He was a man of incredible talent, who had a wealth of knowledge & the kindest heart. He was a wonderful husband, father, papa, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by all. He is surely being celebrated in heaven.
Known to all as Rick, he served his country for 4 years in the Navy & 2 years in the Air Force Reserves. He mastered his career early in life when he became a Cardiac Surgical Assistant & spent many hours of his life in the operating room at Norfolk General Hospital helping to cure others, as well as keeping his colleagues on their toes with his quick wit & perfectly timed sense of humor. In his free time what he enjoyed most was spending time with his wife, kids, family & friends. Whether it was fishing, skiing, kneeboarding, camping or just plain goofing off as long as he was with his family that was all that mattered.
Rick McGuffin is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Robin McGuffin; his children, Richard W McGuffin, Rachel Gatsche & husband Tyler, Renee Mangiaracina & husband Ron Jr. He is also survived by his father, Mack McGuffin & wife Linda; sisters Kathy McGuffin & partner Cindy Holt, and Lorrie McGuffin Bray; brothers Mack McGuffin, Jonathan McGuffin and Michael John McGuffin; as well as 4 grandchildren, Riley, Ronnie III, Ryder Mangiaracina & Sarah Gessner; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Freda Philpott McGuffin.
Visitors will be welcome to the Celebration of Life for him, it will be held at the Ruritan Club at 5146 Ruritan Rd, VA Beach, VA 23462 on Saturday, August 26th from 1-4pm.

Wow, I'm saddened and speechless at this loss. Like so many that worked with Rick I have great memories of his humor. He could take the most mundane case and make it fun. I remember mostly Rick and Robin tearing up the dance floor, just fun! Heaven got two angels that day and they are dancing ❤️
