Richard Allen Rader, 94, passed away on October 23, 2023. He was born in Spelter, West Virginia and joined the U.S. Navy at 17 years old. Richard retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief and began working for NAS Norfolk as a planner and estimator until he retired. He was known for being someone who enjoyed his home and loved to tinker in and outside. Richard was also a member of Church of the Ascencion in Virginia Beach.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Karen Ryan and son, Thomas Rader (Elaine) and numerous grandchildren, great-granchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Per Richard’s wishes there will be no service and his cremated remains will be scattered by the U.S. Navy at sea.
