Richard A. “Ski” Gregowski, 69, passed away October 26, 2010 after a long illness at Sentara VBGH surrounded by his family. He was born December 27, 1940 in Port Huron, Michigan.
He retired from the US Navy after serving 21 years, some of which were spent serving directly under Adms. Sharp and McCain. During his military career, he received several medals including the Joint Services Commendation Medal, of which he was most proud. He then began a second career as a police officer at Old Dominion University and retired as a Sgt. after 21 years of service.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Cleo; daughters Karen Tasch and Kim Beasley; grandchildren Lauren Tasch, Andrew Tasch IV Drew, and Madison Beasley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00am at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Oceana, NAS. Father John Lyle will officiate.
