Richard David Withrow, 71, passed away on July 27th, 2020 peacefully at his home in Newport News, VA.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents: Howard Merle and Katherine Withrow; his brothers: Larry, Ray, Harvey, Howard, Billy; and his sister: Betty.
And he is survived by his last living sister/sibling: Nancy W. Kidd (Jimmy).
Richard is also survived by his three children; his daughters: Bonnie Withrow Whitehead (Rocky), Jennifer Withrow; his son: Little Richard “Kalhoun” (Sheila); Grandchildren: Trent, Ashley, Rachel, Little Richard and Austin; numerous nieces and nephews and abundance of friends whom he considered family!
Richard was a born native of Newport News, VA and attended Ferguson High School. He owned his own HVAC company in Texas and continued the trade upon returning to Virginia.
Richard loved nature even as a small child! The wild animals sensed his gentle spirit and his mother loved to tell stories of all the critters he would bring home!
A celebration of life will be held at:
RIVERSIDE-ALTMEYER FUNERAL HOME
7415 River Road, Newport News, VA 23607
Thursday, August 13, 2020 @ 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
