Richard Kevin Griffey 

Virginia Beach – God opened his arms and welcomed Richard Kevin Griffey into his kingdom on September 5, 2015. Since he was born to Hasel Milton Griffey, Jr. and Faye Elizabeth on January 29, 1966 in Portsmouth, Virginia, he lived a full life. His greatest accomplishments were raising his children, Kevin and Nikki. He was a dad again to his new children, Alex and Conner, whom he was guiding and molding with his wisdom, heart and soul.

Richard gave love selflessly to everyone and would seize every moment to help others. Whether teaching someone to fish, playing music or just listening, he was a mentor for many who now miss him.

In Heaven, Richard joins his dad and fishing buddy, who passed away on April 27, 2015. On Earth, Richard has left so many valuable lessons and cherished memories with his wife, Debbie; his children, Kevin, Nikki, Alex and Conner; his mother, Faye; his brothers, Steve and Michael and their children; his Uncles, his Aunts and cousins.

He was loved by so many whom he profoundly impacted during his days with us. Now, our angel Ricky watches over us while serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Peace is eternally with Ricky.

We will celebrate his life on Thursday, September 10 at 6 p.m. at Coastal Community Church, 2800 S. Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach.
