I just found out about Richard’s passing and am so sorry for your loss. I waited on the retirees group at Golden Corral for years and always looked forward to seeing everyone each month, especially Richard, Connie and Mom. They kindly invited me to their picnics and made me feel at home, even letting me win at bingo. You will be missed - my thoughts and prayers to your loved ones.

Richard and I worked together on many jobs at the Ford plant. He was my right hand man and a big part of my success on these jobs. He had an amazing memory. I would let him know what things had to get done, sometimes quite detailed. I would ask him" aren't you going to right this down?" And her would smile and say "I've got it", and he did. For years he brought me a deer ham for me to cook for Thanksgiving. I will always hold close our friendship. My prayers to the family.

It is with heartfelt sadness that I post this message of sympathy to all of the family members. Linda is correct when she said, back in the day, we all knew each other and shared many long bus rides home. My sincere condolences to you Judy, William and all who will miss Richard.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I grew up and went to school with Richard. All the country kids were pretty close-knit. It's heartbreaking to learn of his passing. He was a great guy. Prayers for the family as you go through the difficult days ahead.

Richard was the best friend I ever had growing up in Blackwater. I spent so much time up at his house or he at mine when we were kids. We both went to the same elementary and high school together. I remember so much about him growing up and am so sad to hear of his recent passing from Covid-19. I send my prayers to his lovely wife Connie (went to Kellam High with her) and their children. RIP my dear friend from a childhood buddy many many years ago. It was indeed a pleasure knowing you in this life here on earth. So many memories of years gone by. My Mom and Dad loved you as one of their own sons and yours loved me the same. I pray I will see you again one day in heaven... Rick Shirley
