Richard W Clark, Sr.
Virginia Beach – Richard W Clark, Sr (81) AKA “lovable one” passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Virginia Beach on October 10, 2017.
Richard was preceded in death by his first born son, Richard W. Clark, Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Helen Clark, his son William Clark of VA Beach and his daughter, Terrie Ruci (Enea) of Naples, FL. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He will be missed by all including a host of nieces and nephews that adored him. As an only child, Richard loved his wife’s family as his own and has many brother and sister –in-laws that are also left to cherish his memory.
In the early years of his working life, Richard was an electrician with Nixon Electric. He then started his own business, Clark Electric which he maintained for many years. Before his retirement, he also ran, along with his wife, Oceana Self Storage.
Richard loved his family especially when they were gathered together. He could always be found with his guitar; picking, grinning, and telling a joke that was followed by his big ole belly laugh that was sure to put a smile on everyone’s face. He was a kind, loving, generous man that made the world a better place.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Freedom Fellowship Church at 836 Regency Drive in VA Beach at 1:00 pm. Rev Rick Hocker will be in charge. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 100 Sykes Ave, VA beach, VA 23454.
