He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia B. Cross of 55 years, and sister Helen Anne Thornburg of Oregon.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Richard W. Cross, III (Theresa), Dr. Bobby B. Cross (Lauren) and daughter Millie C. Neirle (Charles). Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a retired Norfolk Fire Fighter of 36 years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11th at Level Green Fellowship Church, 1305 Level Green Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA at 11:00 am.
