NEWPORT NEWS – Lt. Col. (Ret) Robert (Bob) A Price USA smiled and gently slipped away after an uplifting prayer led by his son while surrounded by his family and Army Chaplains at Sentara Hospital in Williamsburg on Monday October 31st . He lost his last battle in his war against Pulmonary Fibrosis. Robert was born 7 December 1931 in Omaha NE to Harold and Dorothy Price. He is survived by his wife Janice (Jan) to which he was married 63 years, and three sons William (Bill), James (Jim), and Jon (Jon), four grandsons Ethan, Trevor, Aaron, and Graham, and his great grandson Grayson, born to his predeceased grandson Adam. Price served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and retired after 21 years of Army service in 1975. He then worked in different enterprises until he joined the civil service in 1983 working with the Transportation Corp designing medium to heavy tactical wheeled vehicles for the Army. He retired as a GS-13 in 2005 after 43 years of service to the country he loved. Family, God, and Country were Bob’s loves. He dedicated his life to being a good Christian, and passing these values onto others. He had a passion for singing, grilling and smoking food, reading, family events, soldier safety, and doing the right thing. Bob has touched more lives than he will ever know, and will be truly missed. A celebration of life will be held at the Regimental Memorial Chapel 923 Donnelson Pl.
