A visitation will be held Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00pm at Cottage Place UMC, 442 Jamestown Ave. Portsmouth, VA 23704, with a service to directly follow. Pastor Lynne Hundley is presiding.

I was truely saddened to hear that Robert was ill and now has passed. I knew Roberet during my time while I was the Combat Systems Officer onboard the USS Harry S Truman CVN 75 2003-2005. Robert had a great personality and disposition while I knew him and no matter what type of problem we were struggling with he would be there to help us. He was always the professional and in keeping with his roots always was looking out for the sailor trying to make sure he had the tools and training neccessary to take "his" ship to sea and possibly into harms way. Robert we will miss you, your struggle is over and may you rest in peace. May God Bless you and your family and give them comfort during the days ahead.

We worked in different codes at AIRLANT and didn't share much time together, but Robert always had a friendly greeting for me and I will miss his smile. "Precisous in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." PS 116:15. Although Robert will be missed by family and friends, the Lord is pleased to bring him home!!
