So very sad to hear of Bob's passing. I met him through the local caving club and did several trips with him. He was a "gentle giant". Help[ful, patient, soft-spoken and polite ... very capable physically and mentally. He often brought his son, Robert, on suitable caving trips. Bob's upbringing was very evident in young Robert's demeanor. Always a delight to have him on our trips. Thanks, Bob, for all the time you shared with me. Prayers are with his family. Tom Spina

Bob opened his wood shop to me to work in during the mid 90s until I moved to California. He brought me into the adventures of caving, and was generous with his expertise and knowledge in many areas of woodwork, carpentry and general fabrication. Bob was an amazing talented mentor and friend. He had a great sense of humor. Bob helped build my house in California, which turned out beautifully, 1/64 of an inch over 70 ft out of square he said proudly after we finished sheathing. Bob was a fearless warrior and consumed life to its fullest. I feel privileged to have known you. Rest in peace Bob.
