Robert Carroll Jackson, a beloved father, son, and friend, passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 70 in Newport News, VA. Born on May 20, 1955, in Richmond, Virginia, Robert lived a life filled with love, hard work, and cherished moments.
Robert was a dedicated mechanic at Tuna’s Auto Shop, where he spent many years honing his craft and enjoying the satisfaction of working with his hands. His passion for his work was matched only by his love for country music and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
He was a devoted husband to the late Dana Marie Hodges, with whom he shared countless adventures fishing and spending time outdoors. Together, they created a life full of laughter and love. Robert also found happiness in the companionship of his cats and treasured the time spent in bible study with his dear friends, Greg and Pam Seay. A man of simple tastes, Robert’s favorite color was red, reflecting his vibrant spirit and warm heart.
Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dana Marie Hodges, and his mother, Ida Ruth Jackson. He is survived by his father, Raymond C. Jackson, his daughter, Heather Dinnell, and special friends Greg and Pam Seay.
