Robert Clarence Brooks, Jr., 83, died at home in Portsmouth, Va., Oct. 19, 2011. A native of Pocahontas, Va., he is survived by his wife, Esther Lorraine Brooks; his sister Billie Brooks Saunders of Spotsylvania, Va; five step children, Brenda Lorraine Ralph, Barbara Anne Sistrunk, Patricia Day O’Connell, Vernon Eugene Terry Jr., Joseph Richard Terry; 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two step children, Ronnie Gene Terry and David Christian Terry.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at Alexander Baptist Church, 4316 Pamela Ct., Chesapeake, Va. at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Gideons International. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cremate.org.
