Robert Erskine McDaniel Sr. 83 passed away on Sept. 3 2023 in Virginia Beach, VA. Robert “Bobby” was born October 20, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia to Maggie and James Richard McDaniel.

Bobby served in the United States Army. After leaving the Army he went to work as a Mason. He retired from G.L.Wilson building company. He was a lifelong mason by trade. There are many places throughout tidewater that he helped create. He was a project oriented man with a talent for creating what could be imagined. His beloved wife, Sandra would envision it and he would bring it to life. Since the passing of his wife Sandra, Bobby enjoyed cooking and baking for his neighbors.

In addition to being deceased by his parents and wife, Sandra. Bobby was predeceased by four brothers, William, James, Franklin and Hubert, and three sisters, Florence, Shirley and Roanie.

He is survived by his son, Robert E McDaniel Jr. and Sandra’s niece June Shea and her four children, Hayden, Kevin, Brian and Caroline Shea.

There will be a celebration of life gathering on Saturday Sept. 16, 2023 from 2-4 pm at the home of Ron & Nancy Vessel. Address available upon request.
