Robert Johnson was born January 17, 1944 and peacefully took his last breath on April 27, 2024.
Bob was Bob! Successful and Committed to Excellence. He appreciated superior performance and quality. As a student athlete, Bob wrestled for ODU and generously continued to support the program through its tenure. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in Vietnam flying F4 Phantoms.
Successful at so many things, he was a third generation, award-winning home builder that made his impact on the community. Providing jobs and creating “neighborhoods” for hundreds of families. Bob was a perfectionist! He brought out the best in his employees and was rewarded by their loyalty.
Bob was a gentleman, caring, completely and uniquely his own person. He loved his fast cars, sports, his dog Sadie, and afternoon naps. He was a good human being. Now, taking his forever nap, he will be greatly missed.
Bob leaves behind his “Sweetie,” beloved wife and soul mate of 34 years, Valerie Hutcheon. Living relatives include Gerald Gregory, Dean, Lisa, Darrin and Abby Gregory, and Tamera, Jim, Shaun and Avery Tresesmer.
