Roberta Janet Strath, age 78, passed away on June 26, 2023. She was a 1967 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Elementary Education. Janet taught elementary school for several years before joining Richmond Merchant’s Association as their Director of Communication. She was a true cat lover and cared for several during her lifetime. Janet was a connoisseur of wine and spent some of her post retirement years introducing fine wines to potential customers in retail stores.

She is survived by her twin brother, Robert (Jimmy) Strath and his wife, Rita, and a sister, Margaret. Janet is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Robert (Bob) Strath and a sister, Lois.

At her request, her ashes will be spread at sea in a private ceremony in August.
