Roger was drafted into the US Army after graduating from high school in Richmond, Virginia and retired as a helicopter pilot. After retirement, he attended William and Mary for three years. For several years he drove his 1959 Corvette in the William and Mary homecoming parade carrying the Homecoming Queen. Roger was proud of his Corvette because it was the first car he owned at 17 years old. Besides cars, he also had a passion for dancing.
