Roland “Ron” Hamilton, 90, passed away on Dec. 3rd, 2013. Ron was born in Darby, PA, and lived in the Delaware County area of PA until he moved to Virginia Beach in 1980.
Ron loved animals, especially cats. He also was a big fan of all types of music. He was a collector of ancient Egyptian art and a student of its ancient history.
Ron was a retired engineer who had a creative talent for fixing almost anything. He had served in the Navy during WWII.
He was the “last man standing” on Witchduck Road during its widening process, and was profiled in the Pilot in February, 2008.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters Lynn and Carol; son Chuck; brother and sister-in-law Russell and Claudia; sister Peggy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
